Happy New Year... I hope the first day is not a sign of things to come

New Year's Eve Cheltzi, Dominik, and I spent time with my cousin and her family. Super fun and the traditional taco party. I used to despise the taco tradition but this year instead of resisting it I embraced it whole heartedly. I loved it and I loved spending time with my best friend. Watching our kids together was a lot of fun. (Forgot the camera). Cheltzi got some "Mr. Magorium" pops from Nana so we took them with us and all of the kids loved it. For those of you that have not seen Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, there is a scene in the movie where Maloney and Mr. Magorium dance on bubble wrap in the park. Ever since Cheltzi has been obsessed.
Since I was not home with Kevin on New Year's I called him just before midnight so I could be the first to tell him I love him. (Which I do more now than ever and things are going good and can only get better). We hung up and I took my cranky kids to grama's for a spend the night.
Later in the day Kevin called me. Kind of a surprise since I am usually the one to call him. But I was excited. He said he was just getting off of work, but he called me around 10:00 a.m. I asked him what was going on and he broke the news. About 5 minutes after I hung up from our new year talk. He got a call to go into the shop because a truck broke down. Kevin said he couldn't go in because he didn't have a way to get there (I have the van in Utah). Dispatch told him he HAD to get in and they sent someone to pick him up. Well other than he had a truck to fix the reason they called him in was because the shop was robbed and all of Kevin's tools were stolen. They stole a couple of laptops, broke a window in the BRAND NEW shop truck, stole a welder, and knew how to drive the fork lift meaning that it was either an inside job or someone that had worked at his place of work before. Kevin said the fork lift is really finicky and it doesn't work like regular forklifts I guess. The other thing that is suspicious is whoever this was only tipped over the other mechanics tool box and took a nice set of wrenches.
Dispatch had to go and take a load of water somewhere, but when he left he forgot to lock the door. I guess he didn't even get the load done because one of the other trucks broke down so he had to go back to the shop to call Kevin and get a tow rope. When he pulled into the yard to get the tow rope he saw someone take off. They also stole the spare keys to the big trucks and the owner's friends truck was running when dispatch got there. So they think the thief was going to take that truck too, but dispatch showed up again.
This is a big deal to us because Kevin needs tools to make a living. It's his job. They were his tools. We don't know how we are going to replace all of the tools that got stolen. We don't know if his boss is going to buy him new tools and then just keep the insurance money or if we have to wait for insurance money to get new tools. We actually don't even know if we will be getting insurance money to replace the tools.
I'm pretty frustrated, but I have faith that everything will work out.

YAHOO!!

Kevin got a promotion at work. He is now the shop foreman. The old shop foreman was clocking his son in to work 2 hours before he got there. So he got a mandatory no pay week vacation. He found out that the owner was considering firing him or if he didn't get fired he wouldn't be the foreman anymore so he decided to quit. Kevin got a call this morning from the owner and told him he is now in charge of the shop. Kevin is way excited. He is also a little nervous because he hasn't run a shop in about 9 months. He was in charge this week (because the other guy wasn't there) and he said he loved it. They actually got a lot done without "grumpy" there.
This is a huge blessing to us. I think it will be so good for Kevin. The two guys that got fired told Kevin that by the time he was done working for his place of work they would have his G's hanging by a flag pole. I truly believe Heavenly Father had a hand in this event.

Did I mention I can't wait until I can post some pics? I think my blog is getting a little boring don't you?

Update on Kevin's Medical Problem

The blood results came back normal. Now it's a waiting game to see when he gets sick again. We have to take him to the emergency room if he starts getting weak, tired, nautious, and the big one if his face gets numb again. Which I'm sure will happen because it has happened quite a few times.

Side note: I can't wait until I can get my pictures on my computer and put them up. We have done a few fun things since we have been in Utah. I'm excited to post pictures. I haven't put pictures up for awhile.

I don't know what to call this one so it'll be... UPDATE

Kevin and I have talked. He was going to come to Utah and get the kids and me this weekend, but he is on- call this weekend. And the weather has been pretty bad in Colorado. We won't be going home until after Christmas. Stinks because we won't be doing shopping together. We have decided to go to counseling together and for him to go alone. I am happy that we will be working this mess out. I didn't want a divorce in the first place, I was just hurt. I am still hurting, but I am feeling better everyday. Praying and reading my scriptures have helped a lot too. I love the gospel and I love my Father in Heaven.
A little bad news. Kevin went to the doctor tonight because he has been having problems with his blood sugar (we have been watching it close. He was given a tester).Sometimes it gets to the point that he feels like he is going to pass out, he gets really weak, dizzy, and sometimes his face gets numb (the dr said when it gets to this point we should take him to the ER). We don't know exactly what is going on yet. We will find out for sure on Monday. He had some blood drawn. The lady he saw said it could be borderline diabetes, and could possibly be treated by changing his diet. I know he has been a pain in my rear this past week, but he is still my husband and I still love him. Will you pray for him and the trials he is going through right now.
